Shattered!

Among my collection of mugs, is a plain brown mug with a somewhat ugly face sporting a mustache. The mug is not expensive but has great sentimental value. It was a birthday gift from my daughter and the face is a parody of mine. I really love this mug for what it represents. Recently, I had people to repair something in the house. One of the workers accidentally knocked down the mug and it shattered into several pieces. My heart sank. Worse was to come. The worker did not know its value to me and quickly swept up the pieces to put them in the trash. To her it was just an ugly worthless mug. She looked totally puzzled when I stopped her from trashing the pieces. Her view of the mug and mine were totally opposed to each other. I bought some ceramic glue and painstakingly glued back the broken pieces. The mug is whole again but much weakened and carrying the scars of the fall. We are all shattered mugs but of great value to God. When we break

he will put us back together again. Unlike my mug, we will not always carry the scars because he will completely erase them.
