Shalom Morning

There is nothing like the early dawn as the sun begins to peek out from the darkness. There is something soothing about such a scene even in a hectic urban setting like Bangkok. If you are willing to get out before the city awakes, you just might catch the voice of God gently drifting through the uncharacteristic quiet of a city still asleep. The picture you see was shot near the local khlong (canal) which serves as natural boundary to several moo bans (villages or housing estates) where I live. Within 15 minutes after taking the picture, the cacophony of sounds which accompany a waking

Bangkok came blasting through with a vengeance. This experience happens every single day. If you live in a big city like Bangkok, there may not be a place to really get away from the urban jungle. However, there is always a time when you can do that. If you can locate this time for yourself, you will find an amazing connection with God that seems almost surreal for someone living in a concrete forest. Simple truth: God is very much awake and waiting for us to greet him in the quiet of the morning.
