Covid-19 is teaching us some difficult lessons. Every time a country thinks it has managed to control the virus, a new wave, more devastating than before, emerges and throws the apparent good work into disarray. India, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam and others have discovered this to their immense discomfort. Some of these nations fell into an obvious trap of putting all eggs into one basket in terms of vaccine roll-outs and innoculation programmes. Some simply got complacent, failing to recognise the true force of nature that the virus presents. A problem no one foresaw has resulted in some
thing no one appears capable of solving. Just when we thought we have seen enough variants, hybrid versions pop up and even successful vaccination efforts like the UK are still in dread of yet another wave. Humans have always specialised in false dawns, while God does not. Perhaps it is worth contemplating the providence which enables us to have the type of technology to keep life going forward despite lock downs. What would have happened a hundred years ago if we had encountered this situation. God has an awesome sense of timing. Trust in that!
